Locking Variants

For vibration-loaded joints, Stainless Steel SMO 254 nuts are available as nyloc, all-metal prevailing-torque (DIN 980), flange-serrated (DIN 6923), and castle / slotted (DIN 935, cotter-pin retention).

Mechanical & Certification

Stainless Steel SMO 254 nut threads are gauged per ASME B1.1 / ISO 965 to Class 2B / 6H. Proof-load testing per ASTM F606 verifies the nut develops the bolt's full strength without thread strip. Each lot ships with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 certificates. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 sour-service certification available.

Austenitic Stainless Steel (300-series)

Austenitic stainless steels are the workhorse 300-series Fe-Cr-Ni alloys delivering excellent corrosion resistance, formability, weldability, and toughness from cryogenic to ~600°C.

AISI 304 is the baseline; 304L prevents weld sensitization. 316 adds Mo for chloride pitting; 316L is the marine welding-grade. 309 / 310 are high-Cr for ~1100°C. 321 / 347 are Ti / Nb-stabilized.

Austenitic fasteners are supplied per ASTM A193 grade B8 (304), B8M (316), B8T (321), B8C (347). EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 certs cover mechanicals, hardness (HB ~150-217), and ASTM A262 Practice E intergranular corrosion testing.
